Sold at Christie’s 11-12-2002, lot 132 (1,700 GBP hammer, with extra lenses). ‘Hare had a high reputation for his cameras and after he brought out his New Patent camera in August 1885 the British Journal of Photography wrote: ‘Little need be said of Mr George Hare’s Patent Camera, except that it forms the model upon which nearly all the others in the market are based’.
